Some recent pics
Below is a slideshow with a few recent pictures - most of them are from our annual Easter egg hunt. The pictures below only show part of the kids. We actually had so many children that we divided them up into age groups and had four different egg hunts! We had a lot of fun!

Porn and paper pastors
Great article!
Click here to keep readingDecades ago, I read a disturbingly candid essay by a pastor about his struggles with
pornography. It was in Leadership magazine. Years later, two of his realizations still stand out to me.
The author came to see (as I recall) that he was attracted to these images because they were unreal. The women in the pictures never had bad days, were never crabby and demanding, never disrespectful and demeaning. No mood swings. They always suited his mood, his needs, his wants. They were unreal.
He came to see that he had no actual relationship with these women whatever. If (he named a female celebrity) had sat down next to him in an airplane, she wouldn't know him from Adam. Whatever may have happened in his sinful fantasies, the two of them had no relationship in the real world.
Of course, this is why so many women resent actresses and models. It isn't catty pettiness or smallness. It is that they know how visually-tempted men can be, and they know that they can't compete with a fantasy — if their man is fool enough to chase one.
And they're right, in a way. They can't compete with these women. Because these women don't exist in the real world! They may not even look like their pictures! Thanks to computer wizardry, the pictures we see may actually bear only the slightest resemblance to the actual women.
Nobody can compete with a fantasy.
And this post is not about pornography, men, women, nor marriage.
It is about people with paper pastors.

Good Grief...
After watching these videos and hearing the talking heads bemoan the fact that we "tortured" terrorists, who have no problem cutting off people's heads and want to kill as many American's as possible, I can't help but wonder how long it will be until the USA no longer exists...with people with this mentality in leadership I'm afraid it won't be much longer!
I'm not especially fond of insects myself, but I'm sorry but a caterpillar in a cell is not torture! Especially when you consider that those individuals may have information concerning the potential of the death of thousands of American's!
It's ironic how these same people, who claim that this is "horrible" torture has to stop, have no problem with the slaughter of thousands of unborn babies...that's the real torture that's going on!

Convicting words…
From Andrew Murray about the sin of prayerlessness:
“Much is said and many complaints are made about the feebleness of the church to fulfill her calling, to exercise an influence over her members, to deliver them from the power of the world, and to bring them to a life of holy consecration to God. Much is also spoken about her indifference to the millions of heathen whom Christ entrusted to her that she might make know to them His love and salvation. What is the reason that many thousands of Christian workers in the world do not have a greater influence? Nothing except this – the prayerlessness of their service. In the midst of all their zeal in the study and the work of the church, of all their faithfulness in preaching and conversation with the people, they lack that ceaseless prayer that has attached to it the sure promise of the Spirit and the “power from on high” (Luke 24:49). It is nothing but the sin of prayerlessness that is the cause of the lack of powerful spiritual life!”
“It is the business of a minister to train believers up to a life of prayer, but how can a leader do this if he himself has little understanding of the art of conversing with God and of receiving from the Holy Spirit, every day, out of heaven, abundant grace for himself and for his work? A minister cannot lead a congregation higher than he is himself. He cannot with enthusiasm point out a way, or explain a work, in which he is not himself walking or living…Oh, what a difference we would notice in our congregations if ministers could be brought to see in its right light the sin of prayerlessness and were delivered from it!”
Why “Good Friday”?
I came across this story a couple of years ago which I think illustrates well why we call today “Good Friday.”
The story is told of a king in Africa who had a close friend with whom he grew up. The friend had a habit of looking at every situation that ever occurred in his life, positive or negative, and remarking, “This is good!”
One day the king and his friend were out on a hunting expedition. The friend would load and prepare the guns for the king. The friend had apparently done something wrong in preparing one of the guns, for after taking the gun from his friend, the king fired it and his thumb was blown off. Examining the situation, the friend remarked as usual, “This is good!” To which the king replied, “No, this is not good!” and proceeded to send his friend to jail. About a year later, the king was hunting in an area that he should have known to stay clear of. Cannibals captured him and took him to their village. They tied his hands, stacked some wood, set up a stake and bound him to the stake.
As they came near to set fire to the wood, they noticed that the king was missing a thumb. Being superstitious, they never ate anyone who was less than whole. So untying the king, they sent him on his way.
As he returned home, he was reminded of the event that had taken his thumb and felt remorse for his treatment of his friend. He went immediately to the jail to speak with his friend.
“You were right,” he said, “it was good that my thumb was blown off.” And he proceeded to tell the friend all that had just happened. “And so, I am very sorry for sending you to jail for so long. It was bad for me to do this.”
“No,” his friend replied, “This is good!”
“What do you mean, ‘This is good’? How could it be good that I sent my friend to jail for a year?”
“If I had not been in jail, I would have been with you.”
God was pleased to crush Jesus and put Him under all that suffering knowing that we would be saved by His death. That’s real love. What truly seemed so horrible and tragic was really...very good!
So, that’s why we call it “Good Friday.”

God still works miracles!
I am so thankful that God still works miracles! Several months ago my wife discovered a lump on her breast. It had been there for a long time until finally last week after having to force her :-) she finally went to the doctor to have them examine it. I think the reason she delayed is because she knew that it wasn't good. Anyway, we went to the doctor and the doctor and an intern examined her and informed her that she had a tumor - the only question was whether or not it was malignant. The thought my 28 year old wife having breast cancer terrified me and of course it terrified her as well. The doctor scheduled her to have an ultrasound this morning to see what kind of tumor she had. Once doing the ultrasound she would then probably have to have a mammogram done.
Last Wednesday we anointed her in church and prayed for her. We didn't share with our church what exactly the need was, but we simply asked them to pray. Other's from all across the US were praying as well.
This morning we went in so she could have the ultrasound done. When she laid down on the table the lady asked Michelle to show her where the lump was. When Michelle felt for the lump to show her where it was, it was gone! The lady doing the ultrasound sound then also felt for it, but could not find it. She performed the ultrasound and found nothing. So, she called for the doctor who had just last week felt the lump and told my wife she had a tumor. The doctor and her intern came and they too felt for the tumor but could not find it. They did the ultrasound again, but still could find nothing! (By the way, in all of the months since that lump first was felt, it has always been there and we have always been able to feel it)
God still answers prayer and He still performs miracles! The doctor said there is no need for a fellow-up appointment because there is nothing there! The tumor is gone and God is still working miracles!!
This song has been my prayer throughout all of this:

Clean the Inside of Your Computer Screen
I saw this over and Liz & David Mills blog and I hope this works as well for you and it did for me! I learned from reading their blog that the inside of computer screens can become covered with bacteria, dust, germs, etc. that can jeopardize your health. Here is a link to correct this potential health problem.
